I no longer like the NDC - Chief confesses to Wontumi

A Chief in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, has openly confessed that he has switched allegiance from the ruling NDC to the opposition party the NPP because of the hard work and charisma of the Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman ‘Wontumi’.

The Chief of Brodekwano, Nana Kwame Acheampong, made the admission on Thursday when the regional chairman visited his palace as part of his ongoing community tour to some constituencies in the region.

This was after the Chief accused the Deputy Constituency Women's Organizer, Maame Asantewaa of spreading falsehood about him that he is in bed with the ruling party NDC.

Narrating his ordeal, Nana Acheampong said it was ironic and he felt exceedingly embarrassed when his plea for bags of cement for infrastructural projects at the Bosomtwe District was turned down by the NDC for reasons that he is a member of the NPP.

He said he needed the cements seriously for development projects but he was told point blank by some executives of the NDC that he is an NPP member. The ordeal according to him hurts him badly and for Maame Asantewaa to label “me as an NDC member” makes it worse.

"It hurt me so much that your deputy women's organizer accused me of supporting the NDC; if anything at all Wontumi is my brother and I cannot support anyone apart from him. It is said that charity begins at home and so why would I deny my own and throw support behind another person," Nana Acheampong lamented to Chairman ‘Wontumi’.

He therefore stated emphatically that he would support Chairman Wontumi on any day because of the popular mantra 'Adze Pa Wo fie a oye' to wit it is better to support your own than support someone outside.
